Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Ahmedabad organized its 5th Bheema Ratha Shanthi Mahotsava – a spiritual re-marriage ceremony for the married couple
who are aged 70 yrs or above on 4th and 5th June,.2016.  There were 9 couples hailing from different parts of the state such as Ahmedabad, Valsad, Bilimora, Vadodara, Mehsana / Visnagar and Nadiad. All have been Swami’s devotees for past many years. Till date 129 couples have participated in this unique function.
The programme started with Ganesh Pooja and Graha Shanthi rituals at 8.45am on 4th June, 2016. In the evening, each couple were blessed with a gold plated finger ring as Sai Prasad which was exchanged by the couple with chanting of Mantras by the priests. All the male participants were given a traditional attire of Pyjama, Kurta, Pheta, Angavastram, Garland and pearl Mala and their spouse were provided with Saree,  blouse, gold coated ear rings, silver chain and Garland for its usage on the following day( 05.06.2016). The Head priest informed the significance of the Bheema Ratha Shanthi to the participants. A short bhajans session followed by short speech by State President Shri Manohar Trikannad on the the organisation’s history and its seva activities.

 

The second day commenced with a baraat (procession) to the venue of Bheem Rath Shanti ceremony at Bharti Prarthana Bhavan, Gulbai Tekra, Ahmedabad. The baraat ceremony was marked with spirited garba dance performance by all the baraatis along with the couples. It was fun and frolic throughout the two kilometers route to the ceremony hall.
At the venue, each couple were assigned with a Mahila youth sevadal for assisting in completing the rituals of the ceremony. All the couples were provided with full traditional Pooja items an dthe ceremony started with Veda chanting by 4 priests at 10:00 am. Mangalya Dharana was completed at 11:30 a.m. After the rituals of spiritual re-marriage, each couple were gifted one pair of watch as a token of respect. It was followed by Lunch. The team of 30 sevadals and about 100 relatives of the participant couples attended the ceremony.
